Antique long guns - Henri Anschutz of Suhl, Double Barrel Flintlock combination gun, .60 caliber rifled barrel opposite a .58 caliber smooth bore, German silver wide bow trigger guard with fabulous pierced and hand engraved details, steel stepped lock plates with light floral engraving and swan neck cocks with curved waterproof powder pans, right side engraved "Anschutz" with the left engraved "A Suhl," fancily engraved floral tang set upon carved wood details, German walnut stock with cheek rest inset with pierced German silver pattern and a fabulously carved hunting scene of a boar as well as several other deep carved reliefs and an inset mother of pearl oval behind tang, German silver butt plate with matched floral engraving and spring-loaded patch box, original paper label beneath barrels, 26.5 inch octagonal barrels aged an attractive brown with floral embellishments on top barrel flats and the script "ANSCHUTZ" and "IN SUHL," German silver blade front sight with V notch rear. An interesting piece with incredibly fine detail work, owned by a man of great means. Good action, however the right cock needs to be brought back firmly to lock into place, ramrod missing front corkscrew; excellent overall cosmetic condition, fine bore with light oxidation, metal surfaces have aged a pleasing dull gray, small dings, fine scratches and spots of oxidation are scattered about the steelwork; excellent walnut stock with evidence of professional crack repair, missing front swivel; excellent-plus trigger guard with light toning.
